#630: Marcus Sheridan - Earn Trust, Drive Sales

Marcus Sheridan is an owner of IMPACT. It's one of the country's most successful digital sales and marketing agencies. He's the author of Endless Customers. During our conversation, we discussed the four pillars of a known/trusted brand, going direct, the 5 components of endless customers, and much more. You can also WATCH our conversation on YouTube.

The Most Interesting People

There are no humans on earth I’m as interested in as my children. Their maturation and growth are the greatest show on the planet. And having a front-seat ticket to this performance is literally the privilege of a lifetime. I appreciate the way DHH thinks and writes.

The Forgotten Highlander

This is a story of a soldier in a Japanese Prisoner of War camp. He survives starvation, torture, and an atomic bomb. It’s all read by Jocko. If you’re looking to feel grateful, listen to this.

Narrative Over Numbers

The funny thing about persuasion is that it rarely happens through pure information. Some people say, "Facts don't care about your feelings." And while that may be true, it's shortsighted thinking. Humans are not always rational. The facts alone aren't convincing enough to change someone's mind. But stories do. We think we make decisions based on facts, but we actually make them based on feelings and then use facts to justify our beliefs. This isn't a bug in human reasoning. It's the operating system. Wise Words...

"A master in the art of living draws no sharp distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his education and his recreation. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence through whatever he is doing and leaves others to determine whether he is working or playing. To himself, he always appears to be doing both." -- Lawrence Pearsall Jacks

Mindful Check-In

I'm always looking to better understand what matters most to you as a leader. Please take a moment to answer one question and see how other leaders approach it...
